Acupuncture improves the efficacy of other physiotherapy modalities. Some physiotherapists started practising acupuncture because they had numerous patients with pain that could not be treated with normal manual techniques. Physiotherapists will use acupuncture before manual therapy and/or myofascial techniques to make the second treatment technique easier to perform and to have longer lasting results. Acupuncture, in conjunction with other treatment techniques, helps take away some of the post treatment pain that other techniques produce. Acupuncture can help a client’s energy and stress, along with their pain, making it a sought after treatment.
