Welcome to our new clinic space.

It’s been a few months now since we moved into the new Restorative Sports Therapy space outside of Okotoks. To say it’s been a labor of love would be an understatement. Our hearts went into creating this space- it was built on a passion for serving people and dreams of creating a community rooted in foundational movement and providing opportunities to do so. Where we provide them with the best knowledge on the why and how their bodies move the way they do, and to teach them to work with their physiology rather than against it. To change the conversation around full-body recovery, incorporating emotional health into the physical healing process. And well- also a huge dose of reality with incredibly late nights, multiple Starbucks runs, and many pizza and movie nights in the clinic so we could get some family time in.

My vision was to create a space where healing started the moment you walked through the door. The exhale that leaves your body, shoulders drop, ease creeps in and you’re ready to let go. The first few days I felt embarrassed about how “big” the space was, imposture syndrome crept in with a major “who do I think I am to have all this?” But as the week went on and as the community I served kept walking through the doors- I heard the exhales. I felt the letting go.

This process of growth has been has been incredibly hard. The toll its takes on your body with constant late nights, family time being minimal and all of the financial stress. To say I have an appreciate for small businesses, the risks they take and the sacrifices they, make would be an understatement. But as the treatment rooms are full, the movement studio classes fill and you hear the youth come and go downstairs for their Orenda Society programming- I take a moment to thank God for the opportunity to serve and the gifts he has given me. And that’s when you realize you’re exactly where you should be.

None of this would have been possible without my biggest supporter, my husband Dereck Perrault, and his own company Family Roots Carpentry making the vision come alive. He has given his everything for this project and it shows. His craftsmanship is incredible. His commitment to us and our vision is admirable. Thank you Dereck for your endless hard work, late nights, and teaching our girls your craft- there were a lot of pink tools floating around and Ivy’s convinced she’s growing up to be a worker like her dad.
